It’s the Averoff garden. In its center stands the church of St. George, where Georgios Averoff prayed before departing from Metsovo.
In a relatively short distance from the center of Metsovo is the watermill of Gina. The watermill on the river Arachthos is one of the most famous mills in the region, since it used the power of the abundant waters of the river to grind grain for many decades, until rather recently. Through a picturesque cobbled alley , the water mill Gina is connected to the Dormition Monastery of the Virgin Mary.
At a short distance from Metsovo, Anthohori village is a unexpected point of interest with its water power museum. The stream Rona runs through the village, whose waters descend impetuously from the mountain Peristeri and give motion to a water mill and a wooden washtub system which was used by the residents to clean the blankets and rugs. The three units and their mechanisms have been restored and are available to the public, setting up a museum of water power and engineering of special interest.
